Information We Handle

You can browse this website without creating an account. Eidos does not currently operate a web upload form. If you email us, propose a salon, apply to join, or submit work, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your name, email address, institution, message, manuscript, images, and other attachments.

The site is hosted through Cloudflare. When the site is requested, Cloudflare may process technical data needed to deliver and protect it, such as an IP address, browser or device information, requested URL, time of the request, and security signals. Cloudflare describes its practices in its own privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

How We Use Information

We use information to answer messages, evaluate and edit submissions, coordinate peer or faculty review, organize salons and team activities, maintain the site, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.

We do not use personal information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent personal information.

Cookies and Analytics

The current site does not set first-party advertising or analytics cookies and does not load a first-party analytics script. Cloudflare may use cookies or similar technology when necessary to provide security, network, or site-delivery services.

If Eidos later adds analytics, accounts, forms, or other tools that materially change how information is handled, this policy will be updated before or when those features are introduced.

Email and Third-Party Services

The Contact page prepares an email draft in your browser. The draft is not sent to Eidos until you review it and send it through Gmail, Outlook, your mail application, or another provider. Those services handle information under their own terms and privacy policies.

The site also links to museums, archives, and other third-party websites. Eidos is not responsible for how those sites collect or use information.

When Information May Be Shared

Messages and submissions may be shared with Eidos editors, peer reviewers, faculty advisors, or other team members when needed to respond, review, edit, or organize an activity. Reviewers should use the material only for the assigned review.

Information may also be processed by service providers that support hosting, security, and email, or disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, or investigate misuse of the site.

Retention and Security

We keep correspondence and submission materials only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which they were received, editorial records, dispute resolution, or legal requirements. Retention may vary by message or submission.

We take reasonable steps to protect information, but no website, email system, or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Please do not send passwords, financial details, government identification numbers, medical records, or other information that Eidos has not asked for.

Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You may ask what personal information Eidos holds about you, request a correction or deletion, or withdraw from nonessential communications by emailing info@eidosjournalatucsd.org. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where required for legitimate editorial, security, or legal reasons.

Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply. Eidos does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not treat you unfairly for making a privacy request.

Children’s Privacy

This site is intended for college and university communities and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Eidos, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

Changes and Contact

We may revise this policy as the journal, submission process, or website changes. The effective date at the top will be updated when a revision is published.
